  • Inauguration of the Ghana National Council of Sweden

    The Ghana National Council of Sweden (GNCS) was officially inaugurated in March 2022 in Stockholm, marking a significant milestone for the Ghanaian diaspora community in Sweden. The inauguration brought together leaders of Ghanaian associations from across the country, community members, and distinguished guests. The event formally established the Council as an umbrella organization representing Ghanaian associations in Sweden, with the goal of strengthening unity, cooperation, and collective representation of the Ghanaian community.   • Town Hall Meeting

    In 2021 GNCS organized a nationwide virtual town hall meeting focused on the general welfare of Ghanaians in Sweden. Thirty-five representatives from various organizations participated in the session. There was another town hall meeting in 2022 where the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Deputy Minister of Trade were special guests. The discussion during this meeting centered around trade and investment opportunities.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the council joined efforts with the Council of Ghanaian Associations in Denmark to raise funds to support Ghana’s response to the pandemic.
